Gareth Davies MP met with SKDC Leader Kelham Cooke, Cllr Linda Wootten, Cllr Ray Wootten and the Mayor Elect Cllr Dean Ward after the local British Legion rep advised that the Remembrance Day parade could not take place in Grantham due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Cllr Ray Wootten called on Mayor Elect Cllr Dean Ward to hold a socially distanced ceremony and to lay wreaths at the War Memorial at St Wulfram's Church on the 8th November. Cllr Ward was pleased to agree to this request and Gareth Davies MP confirmed that he would attend, along with a representative from the Prince William of Gloucester Barracks.
Cllr Wootten explains: 'A total of 39 people will be invited, socially distanced, and Father Stuart of St. Wulfram's has been approached to lead us in prayer. Should the situation in the country deteriorate then this can easily be cancelled. A wreath will also be laid at the Post-1945 Memorial which is on St Peter's Hill in Grantham.'
