Due to the sudden resignation of Cllr Jan Hansen, there will be a by-election for Toller Ward on 15th December.
Our candidate is Tony Vaughan who lives locally and is well-versed in rural issues.
Tony says: "I have personally experienced and understand many of the challenges in obtaining support for independent businesses. We need to foster provision of vital services such as high-speed broadband, mobile phone connections, and special help with start-ups, business hubs, apprenticeships and training. There is always more to be done. We particularly need robust action from our community police to counter anti-social behaviour and to help us be secure in our homes and at work.
"In these times we expect our local government to keep taxes low and to deliver services with the best value for money. This especially calls for good planning at all times. Fundamental to this process is two-way communication with decision makers, respecting the opinions and wishes of all members of the community. I readily undertake this responsibility in standing for election as your representative."
