I originate from a family farming background, growing up in Bedfordshire and then settling in Lincolnshire, making the Bourne area my home for the last 40 years.
Most of my working life has been spent in the criminal justice system and amongst other things I have been a member of the Lincolnshire Police Authority and a member of the Independent Monitoring Boards at Ashwell, Peterborough and Lincoln Prison, retiring from Lincoln as chairman of the board.
I have been a county councillor for just over ten years and recently secured a seat at South Kesteven District Council.
At present I am the cabinet member for NHS Liaison and Community Community Engagement, chairman of the Lincolnshire Health & Wellbeing Board and sit at a national level on the Community Wellbeing Board for the Local Government Association.
My local community is of the utmost importance to me and I am lucky to live in the lovely village of Morton, close to the market town of Bourne.
